    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

This bot did exactly this, but could do arb over more than 3 points. There was a time, when triangle arb worked great, but btc-e, where I mainly traded, became really crowded with bots later, and it seemed to me that some had better access than other...so no more chance for arb profit... :-(

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

The bots, that I've built back in 2012 were very slow stuff. Far from being usable today. Stuff like this: I'm mainly focussed on all kinds of arbitrage.

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

I wrote many thousand lines of bot code. I know how much work it is. That's the problem... https://github.com/daybyter/cryptocoin-tradelib Some very old code from me as an example.

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

Since I want to create a better exchange, it makes no sense to buy other folks code.

You purchase the API account, so you can access the exchange. Most of the protocols are not really open source, so it's not so easy to use them for your exchange.

    Initial Exchange Offering

There is an exchange (a server) running in the background (written in C++ at the moment, but mostly FPGA ready). Then there is a Java trading app, that connected to this exchange and (in parallel) to some others. The java app displays the GUI. The exchange has no GUI by it's own.

Because you have lower latency as your advantage, and if you want an advantage, it costs money. Well, you can say, that you create more traffic, but the real reason is, that your chances for profit are higher, so people are willing to spend more money.

    Initial Exchange Offering

I'm mainly focussed on low-latency trading, but want to offer some metatrader app for newbies... I even have already some working code, but progress is slow...

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

Have you ever worked with a professional exchange like LMax, or so? Even with a crappy protocol like FIX, thinks are soooo much better. You get up to 10000 prices per second and no request limits and such nonsense. Spend some more money and you can get ITCH or SBE protocol with a lot more...

    Initial Exchange Offering

I'm working on some exchange code, but don't have the fundings to work fulltime on it.

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

Yeah, I coded crypto bots since 2012 and forex bots for the last few years. Returned to crypto for the last few months and still struggle with crappy APIs... :-(

    Initial Exchange Offering

Well, if my competition controls my investors, my exchange is doomed to fail, before it's completed...

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

In a way you are right. But then I'm so fed up with those immature crypto exchanges. Most of the time, you just code around API shortcomings or bugs, instead of focussing on your strategy.

    Discussion about Shaigan_'s bot

Hi! Did you try your bot with forex markets? That's a very different situation. A lot more competitive, but also a lot more fun. At least to me...

    Initial Exchange Offering

But if I wanted to start another exchange, I would become the competition of an existing exchange? They wouldn't be happy about that?

Welcome to any new crypto algo traders!

Hi from germany! 30+ years of coding experience. Wrote a couple of bots in the last years in Java, C++ etc. Mainly interested in arb. Also working on exchange code. Learning about FPGAs at the moment to speed up things. Looking for other coders for a collaboration.
